1) The two possible causes for the fires were an overheating Shredder and also a farm accident. The burn ban may have been violated. At 10:30 am, officials let displaced home owners return to the crime scene. The estimated cost of damages was "hundreds of millions" of dollars worth. After reading the interviews, it impacted the story by adding an emotional appeal fort he reader. After reading the part about the guy's wife dying two weeks earlier and him losing everyhting, it made me actually more concerned for the story.
2) Schools have begun to use online textbooks for Math and social studies. The Robertson family was having trouble accessing the "cyberhomework" and so they spent 75 dollars on a paper textbook. The teacher expressed little concern with the so called "user-unfriendly" online textbooks. She said hat is a really easy way to show more content to the students. It costs a lot to get the devices for students who can't access them all the time. Much more than say... 75 dollars for a paper textbook. I guess this affects me at McCallum, but I've been using devices as an alternative to textbooks for many years that it's probably more strange to actually have a real textbook. I kinda like it more just because I can make myself think that if it's on a device hat it's been updated more recently than a textbook, whether that's true or not is a different discussion but..
3) First of all, Canada is really awesome. You should really seriously think about going there. It's just really... wow. CANADA'S BACK BABY! LEGALISM!!! WOOHOOO! (kinda funny but while I was in Canada over the summer, I saw a lot of campaigns for the legalization of mary-jane and a lot of the other things that are being pushed through now) Canada is going to surprise the world with just how cool and liberal they can be. The U.S. relationship will change because of the withdraw of Canada in the bombing of the Islamic states.
4) First of all, Eastside will NEVER be a "cool hip place to go". I bet my life on that. That school should of been closed. The band director, Alan Guckian, is nominated for a grammy-ish award. He is in the 25 finalists, and he was picked because of the biographies students and families wrote about him. He said he would throw a pizza party for all the kids, "and it won't be mr. Gattis'" This director knows where its at in pizza town.
5) The new coach is trying to stop the finger pointing and build up the confidence of the individual players before just trying to build up a team that doesn't trust themselves. I really like the way this coach thinks. That's the kind of coach that makes an okay team, into a watch out team.
(and a dollar short)
